Every spring hundreds of thousands of sandhill cranes congregate along Nebraska’s Platte River Valley to rest, refuel and breed, something they’ve been doing for almost a million years. Visiting family in Omaha, my mom and I awoke a the butt crack of dawn to see this majestic event of the natural world to see for ourselves what we’ve been hearing about for our lives. It was a beautiful thing to witness a small part of their life’s journey as they continue on their big trip. Took lot’s of photos of the birds in action in their nesting and feeding grounds and a little on life in the small towns and country gravel roads. Enjoy.
